Correctional Records Technician Lead (CRT-Lead) – Positions TP98 & TP99
Employee and Organizational Support Division – Revoke & Return Records Unit
Tacoma, WA
This position is eligible to telework part-time once initial training is complete.
The Department of Corrections (DOC) Employee and Organizational Support (EOS) Division has two (2) permanent, full-time Correctional Records Technician Lead (CRT-Lead) openings available. These positions, TP98 and TP99, are within the Revoke and Return Records Unit, which is located at the Tacoma Community Justice Center in Tacoma, WA.
The work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Work hours are determined by unit needs and are at the discretion of the unit supervisor. If you are currently working an alternate work schedule, please be aware that this position may not be able to honor that schedule. For questions, please contact the Human Resource Office.
Qualifications
In accordance with WFSE Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the Washington Federation of State Employees (WFSE) 2025-2027 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), this job opening is available to internal transfer candidates ONLY.
Employees who meet the following criteria may apply:
You are requesting a transfer under Section 2 Supplemental DOC Article 4.7 of the WFSE CBA.
You are a permanent DOC employee.
You currently hold permanent status in the job class being recruited for in this job posting.
You are currently in a position represented by WFSE.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) years of experience maintaining, processing, entering, and/or calculating sentence structure for incarcerated individual records. *College-level course work in criminal justice, business administration, accounting, social science, or a related field will substitute, year for year, for up to one (1) year of experience.
Note: Incarcerated individual records are defined as records containing certified copies of original documents relating to the incarcerated individuals’ crime and sentences. Incarcerated individual records are not property files, grievance files, administrative files, treatment files, or medical files.
Six (6) or more months of demonstrated entry and calculations of revokes, reclasses, returns and terminates.
One (1) or more years of demonstrated entry and reconciliation of sentence structure in the Department’s incarcerated individual electronic database.
Special Requirements/Conditions of Employment:
Skills test: Must be able to satisfactorily complete Revoke and Return Unit competency test.
